Michigan

We are in Michigan this weekend to visit with family. The kids love being able to see both sides. Elliana has a special love for her grandmas. No one can cuddle or put her to sleep like her grandmas. Andy has been doing his happy dance all weekend. He can not get enough playing with balls and trains. Aunt Ursula came in from Colorado so we decided to stay a few extra days. We plan to go to the Cider Mill tomorrow. We made smores tonight. Elliana loved the marshmallows and chocolate while Andy only liked chocolate.

Check-ups

Elliana is weighing in at 31 pounds and measuring 36.5 inches tall. That is 55th percentile and 28 percentile, respectively. Her ears are looking the same, which is not a bad thing. So all said and done, Elliana is a normal, healthy three year old.

She is into imaginary play and loves her baby doll with a pacifier and pushing her in a stroller. She named her baby Cale and is very loving to her.

Elliana is full on into the WHY phase- at least I hope it is a phase. She can ask why a good many number of times before settling on an acceptable answer. She can be heard asking herself a why question and then answering it herself too.

We have decided not to enroll Elliana into preschool this year. She gets social interaction and educational time plenty of other times throughout the week so she could use a little down time too. Although she is still hoping to take ballet or some sort of dance class soon.

Andy is 26 pounds and 32 inches tall. That is 50th and 36 percentiles. Andy did not like going to the doctors and was cranky most of the visit. He hates to be weighed, but always has. Despite his protests, he is deemed a strong, healthy 18 month old. Andy needs to work on not mumbling when he talks, but nothing to worry about.

Andy loves to play with balls and cars. At the park he will choose the slide most of the time. He loves to run and is very active. He still gives sweet smiles to anyone who says hi to him and waves at everyone and everything.
