Another Day Another Doctor

The new word at the doctor's is that Andy has RSV and will be wheezing for the next couple of weeks or months, with an 80% chance of an ear infection and a furture of asthma.

Elliana, on the other hand, does not have hand, foot, and month, but just a bad cold. I am waiting to her from her ENT on whether or not to cancel the tube replacement.

Memorial Weekend

We have had quite a weekend. It started on Friday with a change of our outdoor plans because of rain and then a complete cancellation of the plans. The new plan was to get to the doctor's. Elliana had been sick for a few days, but then electrocuted herself. However when we arrived at the doctors, they were not so concerned with Elliana, who has a bad virus (maybe hand, foot and mouth) and just a good shock. The real concern was Andy. He is now on an inhaler for wheezing. He has cut back on the wheezing, but it is still continuing tonight. Back to Elliana, her ears are looking better so she may not need to replace her tubes, we will have to wait and see.

Except for passing the cold around between friends, Elliana had a pretty good Saturday and Sunday. Monday was another story. We got up real early (Elliana was already awake, of course) and headed down town. We walked in the "Hunger Walk" for the food pantries in Cincinnati. After carrying Elliana for the last mile and a half, she took a very short nap on the way home. With a quick bite to eat, she was sent to her room for a long nap.
Before I continue the story, I need to share a side story...
Elliana has been sleeping in a toddler bed for the last week. It took a couple of nights before she would even sleep in it. The floor was the preferred place. But now she is back in the bed, until the first light or sound...then she proceeds to play, read books, sing, put on all her pjs, empty all her socks on the floor, and just all around amuse herself.
Okay, back to the story...
She went to her room for a nap, but after an hour of not sleeping, I went to get her. There was an odor upon opening the door. Elliana had pooped in her diaper and thought she would help us out by changing it herself. However, the wipes were too high for her to reach. So she left a spot everywhere she sat which apparently was just about everywhere.
Without a nap, she was very tired and cried the rest of the afternoon. She is now sleeping, in her bed, and has been since 6:30. Hopefully she makes it all night!

3 Months and 21 Months

Andrew: 15 pounds (85%) and 24.75 inches (75%)
Doing great and no issues from the doctors side of things. My issue is not sleeping through the night...
He loves to laugh and smile at almost anything. He will "sing" with Elliana occationally too.

Elliana: 24.4 pounds (27%) and 31.25 inches (12%)
She has another ear infection and is getting her tubes replaced in June. She is not delayed in anyway, but is even advanced in a few areas. She had to stack blocks, say what the picture was and point to pictures. I was impressed that she would talk to a stranger and interact so well.

Eggs

Every morning Elliana asks for eggs. She doesn't really like to eat them all that much- only if she is really hungry. What she loves is to crack them and then mix them. So if you see her coming, hide your eggs (although, she also like to find hidden eggs from the Easter bunny).

Yesterday, Elliana went back to the ENT. After much discussion with the doctor, she will be getting a new set of tubes on June 4. I am hoping this will mean that she will not have to take so much medicine every few weeks...

Also this week, Elliana had her first serious accident. She burned her hand. She has a nice coil mark that may or may not scar. Those of you who think that she will never touch a hot stove again, think again. First thing she did the next morning was to test the same burner. But she opted for only one finger...the burner was cold.

Andy is still growing. He is very long and big all around. I do not have any measurements. He goes to the doctors next week for his 3 month visit. He is a happy kid and likes to have personal attention, but who doesn't.
